it's a bad opinion. Coldplay are a much different band and their best songs are absolutely better than the worst Radiohead songs.

 

unsure what Coldplay have to do with Radiohead other than being British haha, I think they're more like U2 or The Killers where they've never pretended to not be a little corny and wanting to be rockstars

 

yep. they're not trying to make Kid A lol.

a couple of early coldpay songs ARE radiohead songs. i think the comparison dies after that.

 

really unpopular opinion here, but speaking of Radiohead..I cant stand them and havent been able to for almost 3 decades. only song of their I truly enjoy is Talk Show Host from Romeo and Juliet soundtrack.

 

Coldplay got called a knock off Radiohead a ton when they first came out. But they've been through a looooooot of different styles and sounds since then. Seems dumb to still be sticking with the comparison.

 

i like some coldplay ok but i think their singer always sounds the same. maybe more than any other band i can think of.

 

For me the comparison falls apart because even at their most creative, Coldplay is still about crowdpleasing and Radiohead just simply doesn't give a fuck.

That's not to be insulting to either band. I enjoy both of them, but they clearly pursue different audiences.

 

There are absolutely a number of Coldplay songs better than the weakest Radiohead songs, and 1-2 Coldplay songs better than some good Radiohead songs

ICPs music is bad but they seem like genuinely good dudes and even apologized for using offensive language in their earlier music. Also their fans are like a family and take care of each other when a lot of them didn’t have a great time growing up.

 

i want to go to the gathering some day. i can't even imagine the family feeling

Coldplays best songs are much better than Radiohead’s worst songs (and even some of the good ones) but first two Coldplay albums are trying very hard to be Radiohead

 

Coldplay? More like Hot Stop because I can't turn their music off quickly enough.
