I’d start with Yellow Submarine. It’s the one everybody likes best

I work at a retail cellular store and we just started playing Christmas music. Some songs I didn’t recognize or know who the artist was so I’ve been shazaming them. Come to find out one was Oasis - Merry Xmas Everybody and I must say that it is the worst Christmas song I’ve ever heard (granted not an Oasis fan)

It was an early dent in my teenage metalhead credentials, how much I liked Christmas songs.

Luther Vandross alone has made Christmas songs that are better than any Oasis song :eyes:

Vince Guaraldi Trio's entire A Charlie Brown Christmas album is counterpoint enough , but yes lots and lots of great examples.

To pull from my comment in the 1965 in Music thread:

    2. Vince Guaraldi Trio - A Charlie Brown Christmas

It is actually quite possible that I have heard A Charlie Brown Christmas more than any other album released pre-1991.

Also, SUPER shoutout to your "I Believe in Father Christmas" inclusion, @cshadows2887 . One of my faves, easily.

By the end of this holiday season I’m gonna be tired of hearing Ben Gibbard singing Baby Please Come Home 15 times a day at work

also same for whatever Christmas song simple plan does. Just plain awful store music

More Christmas songs should be as melancholy as the Charlie Brown “Christmas Time is Here” song. No more happy shit
