I guess I don’t really get the whispering thing. Like, I hear it in some of her songs but it’s not illegible and if you listen to the whole album, you’ll hear she actually has a beautiful singing voice.

 

Shit music is the perfect way to describe Grimes

 

“Listen Before I Go” and “I Love You” are probably the best Billie songs

 

I've heard her not whisper, like at the Grammys and that ocean eyes song. But whatever was on the radio today sis was doing some ASMR stuff. Had to put on some Shaki so I could do my car belting.

I only know 'bad guy' and that's a really cool song, even though it feels to me like it's going to kick into Britney Spears - Toxic at any moment.

Eilish has promise, but she's more vibe than songs at this stage in her career, "Bad Guy" aside. I think she got the dump truck of awards backed up for her a little early in her development.

 

Bad Guy and bury a friend were two of my favorite songs from last year, and she’s still a teenager, so yeah she’s still got so much potential ahead of her and I’m excited to see what she does next.
I may be way wrong on this, but she kind of reminds me of this generations P!ATD, where both started as teenagers and had huge debut albums, and they kept (and hopefully Billie keeps) defying expectations and are still relevant 15 years later

 

At this point I’d much rather talk about stuff that I find underrated instead of overrated. Feels better for my mental health haha

Haha I like this unpopular opinion, even though I disagree with it (it is a shit line).

I kind of wish I didn't have the standard opinion about St Anger but unfortunately I do. The snare tone renders it unlistenable.

I thought I was gonna hate billie eilish. When she first burst onto the scene I was all like...shes just a product. Yada yada. Not authentic etc

But man once I started listening to her stuff I completely turned around. I'm STILL not sick of bad guy...after a trillion times. Bury a friend is dope. See me in a crown is great. I think zanny is the song that turns it around for me most.

My friends complain about the whisper singing. But I don’t know, I think she’s part of this new line of singer-songwriters like Phoebe Bridgers and Soccer Mommy who aren’t powerhouse singers, but know their limitations and strengths and play to them perfectly.

 

I’ve previously described her as the Gen Z version of early Avril Lavigne, i.e. early Avril Lavigne but without the fun

I'd say Avril Lavigne but with a personality. And better songs. And not as irritating. And no connection to Chad Kroeger. And...

 

Billie is very talented but I think Finneas is the mastermind behind her music, he's a legit outstanding producer

I don't think that's necessarily an unpopular opinion though lol

 

Don’t mistake this for me being an Avril fan as opposed to a Billie fan or whatever, I’m just an observer lol

 

Though there’s no day on which I wouldn’t rather hear the first two Avril singles over what I hear from Billie on the radio don’t @ me
