Clarity through to Chase This Light - not overrated at all. One of the best bands in the world for those four albums.

I'm with you on everything after that though. A few decent songs here and there but a galaxy away from their peak.

Paramore are the best of the big Chorus favourites you mentioned.

 

As do Max and Grady. When they're interchanging each word, it's the most badass thing.

 

There's a handful of Gaslight Anthem songs I absolutely love but the rest are mostly boring to me

 

Other than the 59 sound or whatever it's called, most of their music is very very very samesey

 

They're more boring than all the other bands I called boring

I had a Gaslight Anthem phase and it wore off pretty quickly tbh

 

Sink or Swim is the second best Gaslight Anthem album.

 

American Slang is the 2nd worst Gaslight record also you all suck

 

Great my co-workers heard all the talk in here and Gaslight Anthem was playing this morning

 

I can't stand Brian's voice

 

I really don't have any issues with him or the band, I just wish there was more variety in the music he makes.

I don’t understand how Carly Rae Jepson is so respected amongst most music fans. I’ve given her a listen a number of times but it just sounds like bog standard pop. Nothing stands out. I don’t get it

 

My current spicy take is as much as I adore Hayley Williams and Paramore, “Cinnamon” is a bad song. I’d never post in the PFA thread because I don’t want to yuck anyone’s yum. I just had to put that out into the world somewhere.

 

Yuck anyone’s yum is my new favorite phrase.

Few popstars have the whole package imo, but Shakira is one who does and she is way too underrated in the US at least. Great voice, great dancer, charisma for days, iconic, good songwriter etc etc. I feel like this site really latches onto specific pop girls - Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Ariana grande, etc, but so many talented pop queens don't get any consistent recognition

 

Tinashe deserves to be 10x more popular than she is

EDIT: As in more popular than she herself is, not more than Shakira lol

 

If you don't think Run Away With Me is one of the greatest pop songs ever written then I don't know what to tell you.
