I went to a festival that Cake and Weezer co-headlined. Seems relevant to this discussion. Thanks.

I liked Iridescence a fair deal, which is nice cuz I thought Saturation honked

I really hate Cake. I love cake though.

  6. My love affair with Brockhampton started when Gummy dropped and ended like halfway through my first listen of Saturation 3

    I was right. Prestigious

I was always very eh on Weezer, but their cover of Africa kinda made me hate them

As far as mid-00s “emo”/“screamo”/post-hardcore goes, A Skylit Drive was decent.

Was this worth bumping the thread for? I’d argue no.

Mid-00s post-hardcore/metalcore opinions are always worth bumping this thread for.

Here's another after taking a bit of a dive into it yesterday: Early Atreyu has not aged well at all for me and their first three releases are almost as bad as their later output (which I won't speak of).

Hey Nightmare and A Reason for Broken Wings were easily 2 of my most played songs of that decade, so damm good

    No Fun. Not Ever.

"Lip Gloss and Black" is their only song worth listening to, and that's not even saying much in itself.

I like the band Keane. A lot. I recently picked up their 2012 album Strangeland, and have been listening to it a lot lately. Swapped out a few of the tracks for bonus tracks, but it is really good.

Commuting into Boston for work I have been trying to find mellower music lately to help with my blood pressure and avoid road rage, and I liked Keane's first few albums. They have a new album coming out apparently too.

I mentioned liking Keane to my wife and she didn't know who it was. I played her "Somewhere Only We Know" and her response was "That song?!? I HATE that song! Listening to that song is like masturbating with razor blades!"

I'm pretty excited for their new album.

Okay. I’ve been holding onto this one for a minute but might as well let it fly.

The 1975 are corny and needlessly pretentious. I was kind of shocked what they sound like given how much I’ve heard the name, fits right in with the music they play in Forever 21 or H&M. It’s not bad, not at all, but I can’t really say it’s good either.

My problem is less with The 1975 and more with The 1975 fans but I’m not a fan of their music either

I really do not like The 1975. At all. Their music is really not for me. I kinda keep it to myself because most people seem to really like them a lot, and I don't really enjoy like actively crapping on stuff people like when there's no call for it.

Yeah I'll hop on the "dont get the 1975 love" train. None of the songs I've listened to drew me in or made me want to listen more.

Strangeland is great! Went largely overlooked when it came out, which was too bad.

I'm really excited to hear whatever it is they put out next. Looking at their Instagram they seem like they're in a really good place.
