That's a great song. As with so many other choices people have been saying, that's more an issue of it being overplayed, not it actually being bad
Not sure how popular this was but I hear it often in the work cafeteria and boy do I fucking haaaate it
I have fucking hated that song since it was a perpetual radio staple in grade school, and I fucking hate it now. A deplorable piece of shit, IMO. Sorry!
When I worked in a restaurant in college I remember Chandelier by Sia and a bunch of other late 2000s/early 2010s top 40 playing every single day and wanting to put a fork in each ear. That one and All Summer Long are up there for me. Could not escape that song for what felt like a decade.
i think the song that makes me most viscerally enraged when i hear it in public is uma thurman by fob lmao and i love that band
“All Summer Long” for sure. I grew up in northern Michigan, not far from where he’s singing about in that song, so it got played a lot here. Just completely creatively bankrupt trash.
They are less fun for the purposes of a conversation like this, but songs that aren’t just annoying but actively evil definitely deserve to be mentioned as some of the worst songs of all time. I’m thinking of the twin country chart toppers from two years back: “Try That in a Small Town” and “Rich Men North of Richmond.” Especially the former.
This song is so gross. Never heard it before but wtf. Like why did they think it important to put all these words to a melody? The good thing is it seems there was a lot of backlash to it and he doesn't actually perform it? I hope that's true...
I thought this was just literally a song for a commercial, a 30 second jingle not a 390 million times listened to 3 minute long spotify hit. I'm so glad I don't know about a lot of this music.
Whoops I didn’t mean to start the discussion of worst song, just that it’s dumb as fuck to say “Brown Eyed Girl” is the answer. idk what my pick would be. I think you need to exclude blatantly racist/harmful shit or low quality stuff and focus on songs that were very popular. That AJR song is the worst I’ve heard in a long time but it didn’t have a big reach. I really, really hate “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy. I will need to think of some more
Some of you are not gonna like but Shake It Off by TS is a contender. She should have gone to jail for the “this sick beat” part.
would we consider Jinglebell Rock and like Yummy Yummy Yummy and the other corporate 60s and 70s garbage novelty, like Disco Duck notwithstanding
