Radiohead has released af least 5 classic albums in the bends, ok computer, kid a, hail to the thief, and in rainbows. I think thrice released 5 classics in a row with the illusion of safety, the artist in the ambulance, vheissu, the alchemy index, and beggars even though technically the alchemy index is considered four eps
It really depends what parameters you put on it, because some artists are just SO big that they have, for lack of better words, haters... Like Taylor Swift has multiple stone cold classics, more people in the planet than any other artist world agree, but the stuck up music nerds might not agree so she doesn't get to fit it
That's kinda what I'm getting at though, I think that an insane number of people would agree Fearless through reputation world count, but they are the kind of fans of music that get discounted as having an opinion here
I am and have been a Taylor Swift fan for about 15 years. Reputation is a flawed album, even if I am giving a little bit of grace to call Fearless a “classic”
I think this is the important question to ask, and it takes a whole lot of albums/artists off the table.
These are less “classics” in a traditional way, but more for myself and my music taste: Definite: - Copeland (If you’re a BMT fan, then you can get 6) - BN (Scandal Noted) - From Indian Lakes (The first album was big for me at the time, but I don’t revisit it as much now) Anberlin (NTFP onward. NS is influential and was what got me into the band, even if I don’t return to it now) - 1975 (Every album has essential and classic songs, but idk if every album itself is a classic) Maybe’s: - The Antlers (Easy in if you count Peter’s solo album or the single collection, but they’re probably drop another fantastic album in October, so they’ll join in eventually lol) - Pinegrove (Can we count the big album of all the EP’s?) -Noah Gunderson (Scandal Noted) - David Bazan / Pedro have just so much good music, but I’m still getting into it and can’t say for sure now lol. - Kevin Devine
Yeah me either, it's very bad. You should try Masseduction if you liked Fast Slow Disco.... It's not everyone's favorite, but it's my favorite and the least uhh annoying?? Haha
classic has been warped on the internet from being one of the best albums ever to being any album that’s pretty good
Not to be rude, but who cares? This is a subjective discussion anyway, is this really something worth policing?
