i would give hova 5 in reasonable doubt, blueprint, black album, american gangster, and 4:44 also feel like outkasts first 5 are in the discussion
i feel like time has been very kind reputationally to 4:44 vs when it was released because its such an archetypal dad rap album for the mainstream and then subjectively it also i think has his best set of songs lol
I'd give Outkast the middle 3 as classics. Wayne has 2 (maybe 3 if i'm giving it to Carter II as well but I don't think I am) Tribe has 3
I think they have 3 if you include Do You Want More and Phrenology but that’s just me. I’m sure people would consider Game Theory in there.
me personally id go things fall apart / game theory / undun which gives em 1 in each decade of activity but ik people rank illadelph halflife and do you want more up there similarly
The two most recent Roots albums are actually my favorites, I like the whole genre-less experimental phase they got to
i actually agree with this lol, i only wouldnt raise and then you shoot your cousin as a classic because it reputation is so polarizing, but its personally an all timer for me
The Cure are a pretty obvious answer. Minus The Bear are pretty close, if not there already, depending on the length requirement of an album haha
heres one u2 - boy, war, the unforgettable fire, the joshua tree, achtung baby reputationally you could also say all that you cant leave behind but that album is pretty bad lol
sticking to “studio” (most of the electric era ones are hybrid): Live-Evil In a Silent Way Jack Johnson Bitches Brew E.S.P. Nefertiti Sketches of Spain Porgy & Bess Miles in the Sky On the Corner Kind of Blue Files de Kilimanjaro Sorcerer Get Up With It Milestones Miles Ahead Birth of the Cool could comfortably claim several more as classics tbh
