I kind of absolutely hate any song by red hot chili peppers. Idk why. No good critical essay I can write about it. Granted I haven't sat down with an album and listened all the way through. But it's an instant skip on the radio for me
For my opposite of this convo of songs that never get old no matter how often I hear them... Karma chameleon by culture club Faith by George michael
How in the fuck has nobody said Hey Soul Sister yet That is probably my least favorite song of all time
I remember not disliking that song when it first came out, but it had such a long shelf life as a radio staple that it just gradually became one of my MOST hated songs.
In the Netherlands we have this band that only makes music in English and they had an absolute monster hit here in the 2010s (it is still being plaid on the radio and in like supermarkets) and it is the worst kind of 2010s radio band garbage you can imagine. It still makes my skin crawl, especially hearing the chorus. Highly recommend it to you guys.
In high school I knew a guy who would walk around playing the ukulele all the time but the only song he’d ever play was “I’m Yours”. Honestly not sure if he knew how to play anything else
I wonder what percentage of worst song suggestions wouldn’t be nominated if they simply got a lot less airplay. (As opposed to ones that are grating upon first listen.)
We have established that they wouldn’t qualify then as there is of course a never ending stream of unpopular garbage
I don’t mean that the “worst songs” need to be things no one has heard of. I just think there’s a difference between a song that’s actively annoying, and one that’s fine but gets oversaturated to the point where I’m like, “this one again?”
