I would say his career-long tend of genre hopping feels contrived at best but this specific band being massive before they had one full release out and having co-signs from tons of established artists out of the gate, not to mention the whole mask thing and Charlie still trying to play it off as not being him despite it being very obvious it is, feels more plant-y to me than when people were wrongfully throwing it around with geese haha
