B-52's don't get enough credit for making unapologetically campy queer music during an era in American music where it was extremely uncool to do so.

 

My dad told me he saw them open up for The Who's 1980 farewell tour and they got booed off stage by FL hicks who didn't get it, which isn't surprising.

Saw a B-52’s tribute band open for a really good Talking Heads tribute band here. Truly a “I’m sorry, I didn’t recognize your game” hearing B-52s deep cuts. They rip.

 

Right of passage for all-time-great weirdos. Prince got brutally booed when he opened for the Stones, as I recall.

If it was about RHCP being both bad and disgusting then I agree

 

it was that by the way and one of the Klinghoffer albums are their only albums that don't have any filler.

i genuinely think the only ones without filler are the last two with frusciante coming back lol. great records.

 

all the parts where sounds are coming out of anthony kiedis' mouth are sonic filler. solo frusciante is cool though
