Shockingly there's good jam bands and bad jam bands, similar to every single genre ever

 

drop some of your favs in the thread, so I can try to have bad opinions about them for you next week

 

Jam is in fact music’s highest form, unfortunately jam bands have generally awful taste, but fortunately for the fans there’s nitrous

 

Expressive authenticity lives in the unconscious. Form is a handy capsule to approximate our interiority, but it’s nevertheless a contrivance to some extent. The jam is an invitation to the unconscious to speak up, it doesn’t always, but u gotta open the door

The should be a term for bands like boygenius something like “opportunity plant” for when an organic thing is ruined by major label cash in vibes

all genres can be good and also. growing up in a scene that was like half pop-punk/half jam made me dislike both

Dispatch are great, Guster have one to two great albums

 

Guster got hosed by marketing. Not quite a jam/bro band, not quite indie rock, I don’t think they quite fit the store shelves. But they’re a good band
