Streetlight manifesto is overrated. Not in the sense that I don't like their 3 albums but.... they only have 3 albums.....ever

And their last album was kinda mid.

They've been coasting on 2 albums their entire existence and im sorry, thats disappointing. No new music in a decade. I know they're semi "broke up" but any time I see them pop up for a festival, show, or mini tour, I have no interest due to lack of any new material.

 

It's spelled "banned".

Per Wiki, apparently they said at the start of this year that they were closing in on finishing a new album. Dunno what happened since though.

They've been saying something like that or there's been rumors of new material for almost a decade. I like a few songs by them but I don't think these deserve the praise they always get

 

Hm. I dunno, I understand being disappointed, and I guess I also understand if you've already seen them live that their shows would offer diminishing returns. I don't know if that should have any effect on how their existing output is viewed or their ability as performers though.

Honestly, adding a brass section makes any genre better.

 

the other streaming services are also bad but spotify get increasingly evil every year and everyone continuing to promote them by posting their wrapped playlists etc fucking sucks to me. if you need to track your listening that bad there are other ways to do it that don't involve making the economic realities of making music worse and strip mining your data for cash

 

Last.fm remains the best, but damn it would be nice if they invested in a year-end presentation like Spotify does.

 

There's no money in Last.fm anymore so why bother propping it up with 2x4s and gum with a new feature

 

It does appear that this may be a thing very soon
