Young New England was a good album (especially the second half) it was only disappointing at the time because it was a follow up to Listen and Forgive

I don't really know where else to put this, but I just read an interview with Chris Jericho about Fozzy and how they might just be putting out singles for a while, and I know a lot of bands have said similar things in the last couple of years.

And his logic is why take the time to make an album when you only play at most three songs at radio and maybe three more on tour and the rest go to pasture.

And then I look at the recent Rise Against shows and what MCR did and I think maybe the wrong message is being taken from this, and maybe the solution isn't to make less songs, but to play more songs live or mix up the playlist. If you're bummed a song is being forgotten, then do something with the song.

Like, it just bums me as a music fan that bands would put out less music as a solution to a problem that I am not only sure doesn't exist for the majority of their fanbase, but also one they seem to have direct control over.

On a different note, I tried listening to Patrick Stump's solo album a couple days ago after not having heard it in centuries (heh).

I feel like Stump's vocals were great as always, but the music behind it felt very lacking. It was just missing an energy behind it that I can't explain.

I don't want to say guitars, because fuck that, but it's like the FOB pop stuff just had a lot more immediacy in the music that I was not finding here. It bored me a little.

I revisited the album a few weeks ago for the first time in a while and yeah... It's worse than I remember. The production is so extremely dated, it sounds so amateur. Some pretty bad lyrics throughout too.

Jane’s Addiction did more for alt rock than Nirvana ever did

I like nirvana better by miles but honestly regardless of where you stand I dont even like comparing them to aic and pear jam and shit. if they didnt have long hair and didnt come up in Seattle at that time I kind of doubt they would be thrown in that grunge label. sonically most of their catelog has more in common w 80s LA punk imo

This isn't a bad opinion but idk where else to post it. Ashlee Simpson is an underrated pop queen. Her first album is perfection and Paramore wishes they wrote this song
