coldplay is fine. not my thing but fine. they have kinda done quite a bit at this point and its respectable enough even if it can be a bit inconsistent.

It’s like a checklist of every bad music biopic cliche, made worse by the fact that it is largely ineptly made as a piece of film.

 

I have watched a thing or two about the editing of it which seemed hilarious

 

Bohemian Rhapsody was so absolutely terrible, and the historical inaccuracies and fudged timeline was the sour cherry on top

 

The saddest part is it may have DESERVED best editing. Everything I read/hear about it is that Singer was fired having gotten jack shit for coverage in almost every scene and the movie basically had to be built in the editing room. Kinda sucks that in the end the editor gets most of the crap for it

 

THEY COMPLETELY SKIP THE WORKS, WHICH IS THE ALBUM THEY WERE TOURING AT LIVE AID!!

The scene in the hospital where he does the "A-YO" to the person in the waiting room is so laughably bad,

 

I always think back to the scene where Freddie is laying in bed and behind him is the piano, he just randomly starts playing a few keys and it's the beginning of Bohemian Rhapsody. Completely wrong time period, and there's no way in hell he just fucked around with the piano and basically camp up with it on the spot like that haha

 

they might actually be underrated

I think The Smiths are absolutely brilliant, but we can all agree: Fuck Morrissey.

this is a bad opinion but I'm open to changing it... I think HAIM are not good. I've tried a few songs, only liked one of them, and something about their music just irks me. I can't figure it out. If someone has some decent recommendations from them please send it my way.

 

I feel like if you don't like Haim, you don't like Haim, but for me the first album is still their best. My song recs, if you haven't already, are:
