See I also have such a strong distaste for Guns n Roses, so I wanted nothing to do with anything associated with them (yes, even Slash in this case) so I’d skip over Slither anytime it came up on the radio, a playlist or music video channel.

 

Don't know if it's a bad take, but that Kid Laroi "Can't make a wife out of a ho" song is just the worst shit on the planet and I have to hear it like five times a day.

That's the book that inspired my bad opinion of the velvet underground lol. Many of the bands in it I've explored but haven't listened to it in years. As I read each chapter I am listening to each band discussed. I remember discovering the velvet underground and nico in HS because my writing teacher assigned us to do a report on an album that came out before the 70s, and I chose it by random. lou reed comes off as such a douchebag in that book (not that everyone else in the book is a shining beacon of morality or anything lol) coupled with just not digging the music so i was very whelmed but I appreciate their influence
