I can’t speak on Blur vs. Oasis because I’ve tried a ton to get into Blur and can’t really do it. I have not heard a Blur song as good as “Live Forever” or “Don’t Look Back in Anger”, though. I also don’t think I’ve listened to any full Oasis album beyond Morning Glory in like 15 years

Someone give me an Oasis primer. I know Wonderwall and the first single from Noel's other band and that's it

I heard Parklife like 12 years ago and it did nothing for me, but I’ve always assumed if I circled back I’d feel differently

Gin Blossoms have the same amount of classic hits that hold up as Oasis.

On the plus side they only really have two albums from their original incarnation plus one amazing single on the Empire Records soundtrack

I'm not even a huge Oasis guy. I have a select number of songs I really, really, really like by them and then I kinda write them off as being huge assholes. Haven't listened to any of the solo stuff or their later albums. That doesn't mean they don't have undeniable hits.

The only time I really see people speak about Gorillaz is when one of my high schoolers who is super into Green Day and Queen talks to me about them because they just discovered Clint Eastwood.

I saw Gin Blossoms at a rib fest probably 8 years ago and they played all new stuff for about 30 minutes and then it started to rain and the rest of the show was cancelled.

I saw Gin Blossoms play a high school auditorium in 2006, the singer was comically hungover

  24. When I was 13 in 2006 and my fave band was Korn I thought the Gorillaz were lame and that’s one of the only things I can still relate to my past self on.

(I’ve never listened to blur beyond the woohoo song but I like oasis and think the Gallagher rivalry has provided some great Content over the years ((potato))

Seriously, though, Steve may be the first person I know who is legitimately into music who has repped Gorillaz this hard. I genuinely thought they were one of those bands that you're really into when you're young and just getting into music (or hip hop b/c their most popular songs have a rapper in them!) and then you grow into other things.
