Folie is on the short list for best pop-punk/emo/scene/whatever albums of that era.

In terms of debut albums, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out>Take This To Your Grave.

    Is that an unpopular opinion?

Oh I definitely agree with that. I didn’t hear TTTYG until a decade after it came out tho and by the time I heard it I felt like only 4-5 songs held up

Fever's better than every FOB album.

Folie is a good album, I have nostalgia for FUTCT and IOH, Mania is decent, but SRAR and AB/AP aged like milk in the sun for me.

Fever gets by on a lot of nostalgia for me. The lyrics are really ham-handed a lot of the time, even by the standards of the era/genre. For a band I like and own everything from, Panic has never made a really excellent album.

I think IOH is pretty great for the most part. But they fell off hard after that. Everything post-comeback has been incredibly mediocre.

I liked Save Rock & Roll but not as good as pre-hiatus FOB.

Yeah, like, if they HAD to go this direction, that's the best it could be.

Which thusfar has proven correct, since the two that followed it...

Save Rock & Roll is my favorite album of theirs by a significant margin.

Folie is their only other album that I like more or less start to finish.

I do really like the song "Young & Menace," though. *shrug*

I mean, I’ve never liked pop punk, so I’m probably the last person to be talking about them, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard a FOB or PATD song and not wanted to turn it off immediately.

FOB has like 1-2 albums that could be called pop punk. PATD has none

The first Panic album is pop punk

I'm not here to argue over genres, but Panic is pop rock, nothing punk about them.

I think Panic has the better overall career but Folie is the best album either band has released. They’re both fine to me, neither has made a record I’d consider a classic

Pop rock and pop punk share a lot of similarities and are definitely at the same end of the spectrum. Panic being called pop punk is hardly a stretch. At least the shit of theirs I’ve heard, anyway.
