flower boy is amazing, everything else is pretty bad.

i agree with the gambino take, though the last album was a noticeable improvement, even if i dont particularly care for any of it.

 

hoooooooly balls I agree so much with that “home” statement. I absolutely can’t stand it. I saw it live tripping on mushrooms at mountain jam and I’ve never been so angry about people having fun

 

It is so offensively bad. It sounds like stock YouTube music that elderly white women would use as a backdrop for a shitty time lapse video of their puppy becoming a full grown dog

 

I don’t necessarily dislike Bohemian Rhapsody, but I go to karaoke a lot and I hate that it’s becoming a quintessential karaoke song. For one, it’s incredibly long, but it’s also just so annoying and cliche. I dunno, I realize this is somewhat of a specific situation that doesn’t apply to a lot of people but it is sorta making me hate it.

Art rock (post-punk specifically) has become just as formulaic and derivative as the pop and rock music that is considered 'lesser' than it. Dissonant guitar leads are the new power chords. Cryptic =/= depth and irony is not a replacement for actual fun.

 

For something spicier, I like a few Taylor Swift songs well enough but really don't see her as anything more than a solid pop artist. I listened to '1989' and thought it was fine but nothing more. Her more personal stuff doesn't do much for me either.

I find her more interesting as a cultural figure than an artist.

 

I don't even think I could name or recognize a single Taylor Swift song.

There are probably exceptions but I feel like if a post says "hip hop/rap" instead of just "hip hop" or "rap" it's for sure gonna be a bad post

I will say I am not a fan of rap. There is a ton of hip-hop influenced music that I listen to.
