I don't like the new Arctic Monkeys album.

Ive never heard an Arctic Monkeys album.

 

I have liked Arctic Monkeys songs in the past, but never a full album. I need to listen again but I think this might be the first album of theirs I like as a whole.

In other news, the new Beach House has been a little underwhelming for me. Which is disappointing cause Black Car got me so damn hyped.

 

I’m just now getting into Arctic Monkeys (though I’ve always liked the new singles from AM). I love the new album, and my probably unpopular opinion about the band is that they got so much better after the first two albums — and I like the first two albums

 

My petty reason for not liking the Arctic Monkeys is because I had an annoying roommate in college who liked them

 

Same! I listened to some 30 second clips on Amazon last night of a few of their songs from different albums and nothing made me want to listen to the whole thing.

That's impressive. I don't think you're missing anything groundbreaking, but their albums Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not and Favourite Worst Nightmare was really good. The rest of them have good songs, but as a whole don't really carry.

The last one might as well have just been under a different name since it's so drastically different. It's like the lead singer is trying so hard to be interesting that it's annoying.

What do those words mean

 

When I hear the word "Soundcloud" used as a genre, I assume that means it's shitty quality.

 

Beyond that, I've never been a fan of Soundcloud as a platform...Could just be that I'm not a big playlist guy and prefer to listen to full albums as opposed to single tracks/playlists. Spotify, Bandcamp, and my own curated iTunes playlist have always been better for that.

 

It takes a very special song for me to want to spam it over and over and over with nothing else in between.

SoundCloud is absolutely dreadful. What a horrible service.

 

for a free way to upload music to an easily accessible site/app for quick sharing or referencing, it's not bad, even if the quality sucks. it's a solid backup plan if your music isn't stored directly on your phone or hosted on spotify. i've never used it to discover artists or just randomly browse through pages though

Legit almost missed a Rocky Votolato show last Saturday because I thought it was next week.

 

Oh no! Glad u caught it! I sometimes drive to venues 3 hours away as soon as I get off work so the timing is everything, and I'm always paranoid I'm gonna miss it and drive all the way out there for nothing

My dad has def gone to shows in different time zones and has forgotten about the time change and missed sets so I'm always paranoid about doing the same.
