That's probably the only other option. I could see circles maybe being the opener if it lead into one of the heavier tracks

All The World Is Mad is one hell of a jam. Always gets my hyped and it's one of the most interesting songs on the album to me

I wasn't hyperventilating, just sick of people giving me shit for not liking them allll the time. I've never met another person who doesn't like them, most people either have never listened to them or are all in on them forever and ever. I'm glad I'm not alone.

Since we were talking about thrice the last few pages, I once told a girl I was infatuated with that their last two albums weren't that great and she blocked me everywhere lol they were her favorite band but sheesh, I didn't diss them. I just said they weren't as good as their other work. Oh well.

I also liked beggars, it took awhile to grow on me though.

I love that people do these deep dives on legendary artists after they die, but...wouldn't it be nice if people did it before on occasion?

Go listen to Elton and Bill Withers and Tony Bennett and Harry Belafonte and Sam & Dave and Willie Nelson, etc. Time only moves in one direction.

I mean, I think that depends a lot on one's upbringing. I grew up on The Beatles, James Taylor, and Simon and Garfunkel but my parents didn’t listen to stuff like Led Zepplin or David Bowie so it wasn’t really in my radar. Like I’m just now getting into old Bowie cause the thought of delving in has always felt daunting.

Lol but no joke I discovered Blackstar and was like “holy shit this is amazing” and then Bowie died a week later so that sucked.

Okay hold the fuck on I know this is the unpopular opinions thread but Julien Baker slander is a slight against my soul

I'm not saying you had to grow up with it. That clearly varies. But now you have decades of music at your fingertips.

Never even heard the name (band?) Julien Baker before. Where should I start or does it not matter.

She only has 12 songs as of right now with her second full-length coming at the end of the month. Just start with Sprained Ankle (the song or the album).

julien has potential but i'm definitely not in love with sprained ankle like others are

the newest song is definitely her best but i hope she varies it up a bit on this

the phoebe bridgers debut was much better than sprained ankle

Yeah I'm not as head over heels for her music like I know many are. I was really into Sprained Ankle when it came out, but I think I've only listened to it once or twice since then

Sprained ankle is great but there are some clearly weaker songs on there. I think it shows a lot of potential tho

Sprained Ankle has become a top 5 album of all time for me, but I can’t expect everyone to have such a strong reaction to it. I mean, I'm going to try to get a Julien inspired tattoo literally today. I adore her.
