I think this thread often gets reported because it's one place on the site you can say blink 182 is a terrible band and somewhat get away with it..

This isn't an opinion really but I realized yesterday I had never listened to a full JEW album

 

I just meant that I prefer Tim's lyricism over Conors. I don't know what it is exactly, but Conor puts on an act when he's singing, more theatrical even. Tim's music is more straight forward, at least that's how I interpret it. Though Conor's new album is amazing and one of the best things I've heard from him in years.

I've been hit or miss with Cursive and The Good Life. I can't listen to either band for an entire album, for whatever reason.

 

I like Anthony more in a studio setting, I think his voice is more interesting and his lyrics are better, but god he was not good on the TOC tour this last summer.

 

His voice changed, and he doesn't scream the same anymore, or as frequent, which is whatever. Do you remember the Sound of Animals Fighting DVD? That shit was flat out amazing.

 

I almost forgot that band existed. Tiger And The Duke ruled so hard.

 

Translating The Name was a game changer for me. Those group of live videos from the same set from that era were so electrifying to me. So when Cove replaced Anthony I was a little bitter about it. I didn't hate the s/t album but certainly did not love it at all.

 

Maybe unpopular opinion Talib Kweli is/was the better Black Star member

 

Only been threadbanned once because I made DrewB mad in a baseball thread. I also never got detention in high school.

 

Is getting detention common? I wouldn't know I'm a goody two shoes

 

Oh man. I got so many detentions for the dumbest shit, but then you tell a principal to fuck off and nothing happens!? Crazy.
My detentions eventually turned into "In School Suspensions" which were agonizing, but they kept coming. Then I just got expelled and that was it.

 

detention wasn't really a thing in my school as far as i know
think there was some lunch detention sometimes but nothing more than that

I got detention a lot but never for anything like skipping class, it was always for extremely minor unimportant things

 

We had Saturday school instead of detention. You got it for attendance reasons usually. The last 2 years of high school they had a ridiculous attendance policy. If you missed 2 and 1/2 classes you failed the class.

Although if you had perfect attendance you didn't have to take your finals

 

I only got detention once and it was in my junior year for starting a food fight. Worth it. They basically made me stay after school and clean up the oranges and branches from trees that lined the outskirts of our school.

 

I only ever got detention once and I didn't even go because a teacher thought I had cut her class twice even though both times I had left school early for doctors appointments. My parents just called the school and were like "No, your wrong, he's not in trouble" and that was the end of it.

Oh, and I also punch my neighbor on the arm for spilling my drink all over me and the whole lunch room freaked out and pulled us apart and we were both so confused. That ended up being nothing though since once they talked to us it was obvious we weren't actually about to fight or anything.

 

I had something called On Campus Suspension (OCS), which was an alternative to the typical suspension. You sit in a normal classroom with some other kids, but there was absolutely no talking of any kind, and no work given. So you basically had to sit there for hours and hours until school was let out.

It was fucking horrible.
