Yep, this happens all of the time and it always sucks.

 

Country is definitely a problematic genre but there's plenty of gems throughout like any genre. Isabell is a current favorite, and Shaky Graves to an extent

 

I love country but the mainstream has gone almost completely to hell

 

Yellowcard as a whole is unnecessary.

 

I had this wake up call realizing how big a lot of the metal and metalcore bands are. Had NO idea.

 

Maren Morris is still having big country hits, so there are always little bright spots in the swamp.

Same. Just recently learned about how big Motionless In White are, that fucked me up. Kinda felt like my world was being turned upside down haha.

Yeah that was a generalization that I can't completely stand by. Zac Brown Band is great even if their last album wasn't. I just can't listen to country radio due to the high concentration of terrible pop country.

One aspect of bro country that is the worst is the appropriation of hip hop. "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" is probably the low point of country as a genre.

 

I can't stand even a second of country music, but I didn't grow up with it. From the burbs of Northern NJ. Pop country is fucking brutal though, I don't comprehend how people like it.

 

Honestly though anytime I go to any large concert for a band I like it baffles me how many other fans they have in my city since I rarely meet any of them

That's gonna happen to me tomorrow, I have no idea how many people in this city like Joyce manor and the hotelier. Last time I saw hotelier there were 20 people there tops and I've never seen Joyce in this city

Omg I didn't really know country rap was a genre until my boss and coworker were talking about music. my boss liked rap and my coworker loves country so my coworker decided to play her some country rap songs in the hope that she'd like them. me and my boss just died right there it was so horrible.
