Phrases about wearing your heart on your sleeve

 

closest I'd come to hating a phrase is saying a heart is like an open book, and then again Live and Let Die is great

I'm going to listen to all of Breaking Benjamin's discography and count how many times the following words/phrases are used:

"Burn"
"Cold"
"Crawling/Creeping" in some way related to skin
"Fighting forever"
"Hate"

 

Last two pages read like everyone listing which FOB lyric they hate most lol.

 

Lyrics I hate are any references to "demons in my head", "what have I become", references to it all burning down, etc etc etc. All just awful, awful cliches.

Also, bands that use the same phrase in like every single one of their songs - like "this life".

Hahaha yeah. They also scream GOOOOO in front of a ton of songs just to start it but never really go full on heavy.

 

I think the "demons in my head" can be done really well if it's genuine. Degausser is a good example of doing it well. "Take aprt your head. Take apart the demons in the attic to the left."

I agree somewhat. I admit that I don't even pay attention to lyrics most of the time and often don't pick up on whether the lyrics are bad or not.

Then again with a lot of the music I listen to the lyrics are almost incomprehensible anyway.

 

I can't stand when people buy multiple copies of records just to play one and have three. Isn't the point of buying a record to listen to it? Why do you need all the different variants? Just buy the damn record and play it.

I understand what a collector item is and I don't really care what people do with their money (that was never mentioned.) It just doesn't make sense to me. It's also frustrating when you'd really appreciate a record, but can't get one because people snatched up 5 copies of it (TDAGARIM comes to mind.) I couldn't find a record in my dads collection that he would hold up and say "I bought this, but just to have, never played it." That seems ridiculous to me.

 

Yeah, if they ever did a special repress of the 59 Sound or Hospice I will be all over that shit. Already got Future and Dealer is perfect as is so why bother haha.

 

Is 59 sound hard to find? I've got a copy and usually see one in my local store.

I'd die for Tom Petty's Wildflowers on vinyl. And I'd play the hell out of it. I've got everyone I know keeping an eye out for me on that one.

 

I'm torn between Springsteen and the National as my next vinyl.

 

Tough call. I have a couple Springsteen but my favorite for throwing on is Nebraska.

 

I have no Springsteen or National. All I have is Futures special green edition, Hospice, All Hail West Texas, 59 Sound, Dealer, Too Bright, Lost in the Dream, and Billy Joel's Greatest Hits volume 1 and 2. Need moar
