Yeah this thread got real hostile for a minute there

Whoa I've been playing WoW for about 11 years now that's crazy

 

yeah my parents never had that mindset. just wanted me to read the damn bible.

 

my parents were pretty cool. making music was my escape from feeling like a social outcast in grade school.

also could kill mad time playing some rotation of Madden, Gran Turismo and Sim City.

 

Wasn't going to post again, but this part is completely false, perhaps I just don't understand your sense of humor. It has nothing to do with you - whether you or anyone else had posted it, my reaction would have been the same. Nor would I describe my reaction as "going after you", but I certainly felt personally targeted by you and several others after posting.

WoW was after middle school for me but I'm not sure I would've been interested anyway haha. Still arguably the worst three years of my life though, middle school was bad

 

i completely felt personally targeted by you because we just got into an argument in the 1975 thread last week where you said the same exact thing.

 

I feel this. Although my parents let me play WoW and CS 1.6 religiously.

When i was in like 3rd grade (whenever the first HP book came out) we were reading it at school. I was the ONLY student held out during the readings. My mom said HP was a way to promote black magic and witchcraft.

Right, because in both cases I got a hostile feeling from (not just) you about something as insignificant as someone cutting songs or putting an album on shuffle or whatever. Again, maybe I have no idea how to read your sense of humor, I just read those posts as unnecessary bashing of someone else's habits.

i dont think theres anything wrong with bashing habits that i find ridiculous. for example, you wouldn't get mad at me for bashing smoking cigarettes would you? i dont insult people who do smoke but i think smoking cigarettes is awful. same concept here, obviously not as extreme and not something i ACTUALLY care about but i can still express it in a jokey sarcastic way if i want to and i dont feel that warrants the response i constantly get from you about it

 

From what I've seen, it can shut down discussion and make people feel unwelcome in a conversation, but I'll drop it.

 

im just saying i have a right to my opinion on certain habits and no one should take my view on the habits personally. again, the insult of "fascist" when it comes to something as innocuous as listening to records is so over the top and ill fitting i figured everyone would see i was joking. i guess not. i dont know what to say because im never gonna stop being like that.

 

Let's see, BC came out January 07, which means i started in 08, makes it 8 years. Damn

the annoying thing is that i have two little sisters, and my parents have totally chilled out with them. like they're doing/reading/watching things at 8 that i could do at 14.

Back on topic:

I do not, in any way, understand the appeal of Gucci Mane. I tried the mixtapes back in the day. Listened to Everybody Looking yesterday. I find him incredibly underwhelming, with the exception of one song on Everybody Looking.

my father has smoked since he was a teen im used to the smell its just not something i enjoy unless im drunk and i dont drink anymore and i do wish people would like, not do it but its their choice. just like deleting songs and shuffling records!
