Hmm. Now I'm going back and that's not the lyric. I'm having vague suppressed memories of a girl who regularly butchered it at open mic nights in college that apparently involved messing up lyrics. The things you learn. Haha

Yes! The wolf sounds are so fun to sing along to lol. Sale el Sol is my fave album of hers. Loca is such a fun song! Her older Spanish albums are good too. Solid catalog minus her last album which I didn't love. She's always experimenting with different sounds and influences and never really gets credit for it.

 

English is her second language!

haha she's good with English now and still has random lyrics sometimes but I like it. They're always so weird but specific so I like to think they're inside jokes and references for who the song is about but maybe she is just influenced by Train haha.

Econ major. Econ & law was my favorite class of undergrad so I considered doing law. Took the LSAT, but then decided not to apply anywhere, on the advice of basically everyone I asked. Don't regret it one bit!

people's passion for music comes out when they're explaining the artistic value in something, to a person that doesn't "get" or enjoy that particular record. I dig this thread and reading all your responses, the arguments are just fun, no need to take someone's opinion on music personally or super seriously.

I think sometimes people are a little too sensitive of people who use wit or extreme sarcasm to put their points across.

it's not that i can't handle it, it's just that you're an asshole

 

idk i think that's one thing, i think unpopular opinions are super fun to share. but more often than not people just get obnoxious and rude and we don't end up saying anything interesting about the actual music

 

in my experience posting on the internet i used to overreact to sarcasm and get into these dumb fights because I took their harsh opinion seriously, if you just play it cool when you hear a remark that sounds aggressive and remain logical and genuine, a lot of times you'll realize that person was just saying it that way for effect, and a lot of times they'll respect your opinion more as well. Just be okay with having your own opinion and yeah there will be defectors and "haters" but whatever, its just music, if you don't take these discussions overly seriously they wont either.

People can be mean on the internet for sure but a lot of that is more perception of tone and culture and semantics than people actually trying to make you feel bad.

 

be that as it may, i think this thread is a worse place for it and it makes people not want to contribute. not necessarily including me, i don't have lots of original opinions lmao, but i've seen it in users who drift away from various threads including this one.
