I like C&L a million times more than any other Sufj work but i also like it a million times more than most albums

feel like i should make a distinction here - when i praise Elliott's vocals, its' not that I think he's an amazing technical singer, it's more the ideas he comes up with that blow me away

I need to try Elliott Smith again. I hated his stuff when I tried it out because of his voice but I've gotten into a lot of stuff since then where I also had trouble with the vocals at that time.

 

I'd put "I Watched The Film The Song Remains The Same", "Ben's My Friend", "Carissa", AND "I Can't Live Without My Mother's Love" up there personally.

April is certainly a more consistent album but I rank Benji above it because of the combination of great songs and emotional impact

 

even on his acoustic material you can hear a lot of Beatles, Velvet Underground, Queen, and even Nirvana in his music. He's got such a unique blend of sounds and became incredibly diverse for a guy who started out with simple chords and lo-fi recordings.
