Haven't had a chance to sit down and listen to this but I hopefully will tonight. Cannot stop jamming II Love reading all the posts in here abt it Though!
Listened to this while driving. Don’t think it’s that kind of record. Gonna go for the headphone listen in the dark to see how it sits. Because round 1 I was just kinda bored.
I think those are all good starters. But for the last question, that was technically the start of their collaboration when they covered each other's songs on the I Could Be the Only One EP. Maybe the question should be if they would finally release the 7 inch!
I feel like this album exists among the Black Mile universe. Almost like a companion piece to the album.
Has any one gotten their vinyl yet? My order page says shipped but I never got an email and it does not provide a tracking number.
Mine said shipped all last week...I finally got a tracking number on Friday, but I checked it today and it doesn't appear to have moved - if at all - yet.
Kinda bummed I didn't pre-order as people seem to be getting cool things in the shipment, but I'm seeing them on Wednesday so it didn't make sense to have it shipped. Hope you guys get cool things though!
After listening to this a few times and then revisiting both of the other records for the first time in awhile I've decided it would be dumb not to go see them. So I am making the trek on Thursday
So some person was on a Facebook event page and made a joke "So you heard the new album too?" in response to someone selling their tickets. I asked what they didn't like about the album and they said "When I first heard there was a new Bad Books album coming, I'd expected a Bad Books album that sounds like Bad Books." Does this album really not sound like Bad Books? I feel like a majority of tracks off I and II match the same feeling from III. Like do people just think Bad Books sounds like Forest Whiteaker or something? Minus some percussion, I think all of these songs would sound right at home on III: Easy Mark & The Old Maid You're A Mirror I Cannot Avoid I Begged You Everything Mesa, AZ Texas (The first half of) How This All Ends Thanklin Franklin Pyotr Petite Mort 42 Lost Creek
Cool things in the shipment, eh? Perhaps that's what they mean by "bundle" since I didn't order a bundle intentionally?
Another thing I’d be curious to know is if any Bad Books songs turned into MO songs or vice versa (or even RAGC songs)...as in did they ever start writing a song then not use it for that project but then re-work it later for another project? In similar fashion, how does Andy decide when writing if it’s a MO song, a Bad Books song or a RAGC song? Obviously the band members help decide too but I’m sure Andy has come up with riffs, lyrics, melodies on his own and then had to decide where/which band to use it.
