I haven't listened to this since my initial few listens cause it didn't really stick with me and I forgot, but as usual I love reading how radically different your opinion is haha
Haha yeah. I don't know. I wasn't too into this when it came out. But I gave it another chance about a week ago and it grew on me really fast from there. I'm glad someone enjoys my non-sense on here.
I recall having yr initial opinion that the first few songs were great so I might need to give this another listen in the coming days haha you can always be counted on to have an interesting opinion imo I think this is basically my criticism. Lack of diversity. Sticks very closely to a comfort zone, from what I recall
David Bazan's "Care" is great. I'm really into the Dreamcar record. Aaron Sprinkle's "Real Life" is a great pop record if you're into that. Then Big Thief and Lo Tom both released really great indie albums recently. Honestly, really just into 2017 for music.
Fuck I can't believe I thought Care came out last year. I still haven't checked out Big Thief and Lo Tom though, that's promising. Thanks for the reminders
Seconding the recommendation for Capacity. It got under my skin in a way no other album has this year. Also, knowing your tastes (which seem very similar to mine), you'll love Lo Tom. It rocks.
Finally getting around to listening to this. Great stuff. I'm enjoying this more than the stuff that the bands that they're emulating are releasing this year. Bemis sounds like he's doing background vocals on a couple of these tracks?
damn this thread has not been bumped in a minute lol. looks like zack is putting out a solo record in january
Listening to Until We Rebuild right now. This kind of sounds like a noisier Digital Ash-era Bright Eyes. It's really cool.
