I almost put on Amsterdam the other day and then stopped myself cause I realized I don’t hate myself that much.
I mean, I'll take those odds and bet like, a nickel against it. . Shout-out to the whole Amsterdam Squad!!!! I still haven't seen and everytime I think of maybe watching it just think of this tweet and the thoughts end there/Spoiler]
i agree but they look eerily similar and i'd imagine the majority of that is due to chazelle having goodwill DOR doesn't have. the early reviews are quite bad
I just can't bring myself to be very excited about this for some reason. In theory most things about it should tick all my boxes but the trailers just are not clicking for me
Paramount might be happy with the tracking on Babylon? It's not a guaranteed best picture nom either so this is a sign of confidence from them.
This was insane, annoying, funny, way too long, surprisingly explicit, predictable. I have a feeling this forum will tear it to shreds. I’m still not sure my feelings on it. Was definitely more interesting than Amsterdam.
This is supposed to be historically bad. I don't know if I can sit through three hours but I might buy a ticket to The Fabelmans and see this during the break.
https://www.theringer.com/movies/2022/12/21/23519567/babylon-movie-review Not sure if Nayman hated it or liked it based on this review, but he comes away with a real "well I gotta hand it to him" takeaway.
If it is as bad as multiple outlets have made it sound, it will be a remarkable fall from grace from Whiplash.
Really getting the full experience right now seeing this in a theater that has the heat at full blast when it's 50 degrees outside
