Fuck I can't wait to watch this again. I haven't left a theatre this blown away since Cabin in The Woods.
Agreed completely. I saw it on a little theater with a crappy little screen. I need to see it on a better screen immediately.
might go see this again today. Also thank you Edgar Wright for featuring the PS Vita in that post office scene. There are still owners out here, DOZENS OF US
Yup, totally delivered. Was a blast from start to finish without any part slowing down. Solid use of each song, glad I listened to the soundtrack a couple days ago as I wasn't familiar with most of the songs used in the film.
Wait the actor who plays his foster father is actually deaf? That just makes me love Edgar Wright even more. Casting disabled actors into disabled roles instead of just having an able-bodied actors play the part is something studios really need to do more of.
Saw it this afternoon and loved it! I loved the music and how often the action was on beat with the song playing in the background.
I liked this didn't love it chief complaint: Debora and Darling were both fairly thinly drawn and really only served a purpose in relationship to the men in their life Did anyone else spend the whole movie trying to figure out when the IPOD was invented? It was 2001 by the way, which would make Baby like 21 I guess, so he was stealing cars at 11? Sorry I'm overthinking the timeline Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx were so good, this might be my favorite Jamie Foxx performance also extremely on brand for me, when Baby was channel surfing I could tell the movie he skipped was Something Borrowed
This was alright. Every single scene is so masterfully directed and there were so many parts within the individual scenes that had me elated (the introduction when he's walking down the sidewalk and the girl tapping on the ATM or the guy texting on beat for example). But as a whole, I didn't feel very invested in the characters or the story. I'd even say it dragged at parts for me. Certainly my least favorite Edgar Wright but still mostly enjoyable, however I think it's the first time I've left an Edgar Wright movie thinking, "I don't need to see this again." Glad it's getting so much buzz though, hopefully that'll cause more people to seek out his other stuff. the Monsters Inc line at the end was brilliant
Saw it again and the ending worked a lot more for me this time. But the one thing still bugging me is that Doc's decision to help Baby doesn't really gel with what we've seen of his character previously in the movie.
Yeah, I can't see anything beating Hot Fuzz. Obviously I'm not sure which of his you like the most, but this is only outdone by Hot Fuzz for me.
