Yeah that and Kevin Spacey getting gruesomely run over and back over again. I gotta say though the pure joy I felt when Jamie Foxx gets impaled was amazing. He makes you hate his character so much.
Yeah, the film has about seven or eight f-words from what I heard. Light for what an R-rating allows, but more than a PG-13 allows.
It's fitting that Guillermo Del Toro praised this film so beautifully, I thought of Pacific Rim (and Mad Max: Fury Road) in relation to Baby Driver in terms of feeling just awe of the craft put into creating and orchestrating such stunning action
There were moments in this film where I got teared up, never before has a film done so well (or at least connected with me in such a way) celebrating a love of music. From the editing to it being a central driving factory for Baby. Ugh, this one will be a special movie for me.
Looks like the soundtrack doesn't all appear on Apple Music, but someone made a playlist of all the songs.
This was solid fun. I found it a little too macho for me (this is not a slight, but I'm just generally not wild about action/genre cinema). Pretty easily my least favorite of Wright's films but he's got a tough track record to compare to. The film is a total thumbs up for mid-budget American film making though.
There were enough f-bombs that I felt awkward that there was a kid, probably about 7, sitting behind me with his parents (one being on their phone the whole movie) at 10pm on a Tuesday who kept asking to have things explained.
This sounds so insane to me, but I can see a future where I have a kid and a new Edgar Wright movie comes out and I can't find a babysitter and THERE I AM
When I was like ... 24 ... I woulda been more concerned... at 34 I'm like "yeah, whatever, you do you, we're all screwed anyway. Stay up late and watch awesome movies, fuck it." Hahaha. I just didn't love the talking/cell phone glow.
This was my main takeaway as well. Basically everything I could ask/hope for in a mid-budget Hollywood film in 2017
There was a group of little kids that kept running around the theater and yelling "oooh" every time they said the f word and "ewww" every time there was a kiss. I mostly ignored them because I was too engaged in the movie but my friends were very annoyed
As soon as this was done I put on my headphones and started up the soundtrack for the walk back to my car lol Anyone else catch the Easter egg of the clip of the Noel Fielding original baby driver short, when he was flipping through channels
Absolutely loved this. First movie that I had to see opening day in a long time. A few minor complaints, the biggest being Jon Hamm being a pretty over the top villain at the end. I enjoyed his character throughout the whole movie, and I know it was set up that he'll kill for his wife but it just seemed a bit much, especially during the parking garage stuff. I'm excited to rewatch this a ton over the next few weeks. I hope people keep seeing it. I saw it in a half empty theater and I feel like I was the only one laughing, which is a bummer.
theater was packed for me, especially compared to the 5 other people in the theater with me for Wonder Woman, but they were also 3:00 vs 7:00 showings (also, fourth week vs opening night)
