When Eden, an aggressively single woman, gets pregnant from a one-night stand, she turns to her best friend Dawn, a married mother of two, for help
Michelle Buteau's standup is great. her hosting is fine and I don't know much about her acting. but this is still going on my radar
Liked this a decent amount. Cool to see kinda gross-out comedy moments in a woman led movie like this. A couple of the scenes were a little too riff-y for my taste but that’s whatever. John Carroll Lynch and Oliver Platt were fun in this too
Her scripted Netflix show Survival of the Thickest is really good. It's been renewed for s2 as well so more coming as well.
Honestly I thought Michelle showed way more emotional range in this than Ilana did. Was very impressed!
This one is hard to get through. The plot is already reminiscent of Juno, but the quips only make those ugly memories flare up more. She gives a monologue immediately after giving birth that feels like the director gave the script directly to the character. She should have just looked at the camera while delivering it.
Was skeptical, but came out very pleased with how this was much more about a friendship than a soon to be parent being forced to ~grow up~. Many moments here really cracked me up. Hasan was pretty bad. Agree the post birth monologue was weird but at least the way it was worded felt on brand for the character lol. And no offense to all my Claudettes but Claudia was right there
