surprised more people aren’t talking about this bc I totally agree. The album overall is super quiet and muffled sounding and when I raise the volume it definitely feels like different parts of the mix are moving up and down.
I just have the FLAC files on my phone and it sounds really good. See if downloading the files directly from a different site helps.
im surprised that there hasn't been a music video yet for anything. Love it when you hate me's been out for a few weeks now and to be honest, i thought the bite me video was a little half assed. her live performances have all been A+, and its not like i NEED a music video or anything....more just surprised
I have a bad feeling they're gonna push the MGK song hard as a single w/a music video. But if I could choose I think the title track would be a great single
Yeah they will definitely push that song hard as it's arguably one of the more radio friendly songs on the record.
i'm glad rock is starting to make a chart comeback and all that, but got damn can we do it without giving mgk a platform? please?
Alright, ill bite, whats the beef with mgk? I'm completely unaware of anything about the guy, other than he's dating Megan fox
Idk anything about mgk and agree he’s a terrible singer but his last record had several super catchy songs. Our scene certainly has no shortage of bad singers we revere so perhaps some just get used to it more easily.
There's just tons of instances from the early 2010's where he made pedo jokes. Specifically, when he was 21 he said he wanted to fuck Kendall Jenner, who was 17, and justified it by saying all the great rockstars are pedophilles. He also joked a lot on Twitter about how it's hard to fuck groupies at shows because there are too many 14 y/o's. For the record, no one has actually accused him of abuse, but there's a really skeevy energy coming off the guy that's super repellant. He's clearly the highest potential milkshake duck in the scene. He also said referred to self-harm as "stupid shit" when someone misinterpreted a lyric of his as being about self-harm, and he also gets in weird beefs with bands for no reason. He made fun of Slipknot's masks, and made fun of pop-punk bands who wear "comfy shoes like Nikes" shoes instead of Vans or Converse. I think most people in general don't like him because he's appropriating scene culture without giving back to it. Avril & Blackbear are all artists who are inviting actual pop-punk bands to open for them. MGK just plays with other Travis Barker produced artists.
Should have stayed in rap for starters. And he wasn’t even good at that. Coming from someone who listened to a ton of hip-hop around the time he came out.
Album debuted at #10 with 27k album equivalents. It did better than her last album, but I honestly thought it'd sell a bit more. I think no vinyl hurt her numbers. EDIT: I see it hit #3 in both UK and Australia. That's pretty great!
