Wow. It made $250 million opening weekend, beating TFA and made a record-breaking $630 million worldwide opening weekend.

    $630 worldwide opening.
    Disney’s calling the record already.
Personally I expect all numbers to increase tomorrow.

    What’s the fastest to $1b?

It looks like TFA and TLJ were two of the casualties from Thanos doing the snap. May we have a moment of silence.

But seriously, if any movie beat TFA’s opening weekend I am glad it was this one.

TFA previously but Infinity War will definitely be the fastest to $1B.

Good lord, it topped the previous record without China. That is insane.

The Fate of the Furious, I think.

I'm sure TFA took 12 days or round about that.

Yeah. Single digits should be in play.

    Took 19.

    Exactly 12!

I'm sure this will do more. Hopefully find out tomorrow how much this made over the weekend globally. It'll be in the 300 mil region for sure.

I wonder how Jim Starlin feels.

With China in play this could’ve gone over $800m based on Ultron’s opening alone.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Disney make every market the same for part 2 to go for it.

Just read somewhere that this is 650 mil opening. Is this true? I'm not really clued up on box office numbers so how does that compare?

The previous record was $540 million so Infinity War passes it by $100 million

It has basically forced itself into the top weekend record for good unless A4 can top it. Not even Star Wars 9 can do this. It’s pretty surreal.

It demolishes the previous record by a little under 100 million or something, and that isn't including China, one of the biggest markets for this kind of movie.

Wow that's pretty awesome, especially without China. Didn't they have a 2 billion budget for both films? Looks like that'll be made back pretty quickly.

It was 1 billion for both, wasn't it? $500 million each

Wikipedia says that the budget for IW was between 300 and 400 million. I’m not sure if marketing is put into that.

That's insane that it's basically turning profit already if that's the case.

To factor in marketing basically add half of the announced budget to the total. Some movies get more (this likely did), some get less (something like A Ghost Story or Personal Shopper)

$650 million?! We’ll remember Infinity War as the film that killed MoviePass.
