I've had my tickets since 3/16. This wait feels long, but it's hard to believe this film was officially confirmed almost 4 years ago. haha

I just checked my Cinemark and a ton of the showings are just about sold out. I do love the reserved seating for cases like this. My showing is at 7:30 on Sunday and that's about 1/5 of the 250-seat theater is already sold.

 

I bought my reserved seating two days after tickets went on sale and there were only about 10 seats left. The other theaters in my area were basically all sold out except for 3 or 4 random single seats that no one is likely to buy.

 

Oh, I'm sure. You're probably first day. The whole weekend is very booked. It doesn't show as sold out because the crummy seats are still there, but those always get purchased right before. It's for sure going to be a huge weekend.

Does anyone have experience with Cinemark XD rows towards the front?

I can't make it to the Infinity War showing that my friend group is attending due to work. I'm considering seeing this by myself opening night in Cinemark XD 3d w/ (reserved) luxury seating. The best seat currently available for that showing is in the second row back from the screen, approximately 1/3 of the way in from the left side.

How much of a space between the screen and front row does XD have? If I go to this showing and watch the movie with my seat reclined (so I won't be craning my neck), will this be a good experience? Or should I just go to a standard showing w/out reserved seating and try to get to the theater early enough to have a further back seat?

(I'm also curious if the 3d in that seat will ruin the experience. I don't normally see 3d but don't get headaches from 'em when in good seats, so for this, I just wanna make sure the image will lose all its crispness.)

 

I always see these movies in a big XD theater. It depends how yours is set-up. It looks like they were trying to get them all to the same construction, so I'm expecting it looks like this:



I, personally, wouldn't recommend it. It seems like that seat would be such a strain, especially for a 3D showing. Otherwise, if the standard showings aren't reserved, I'd go and wait it out.

 

Yeah, the Cinemark 15 min from me doesn't have reserved seating or anything else special. And then the one 25 min from me has the luxury seating, reserved, and XD.

Guess I'll go for the regular. Depending on work stuff, I should get there like 45min before the showing, which shouldn't be bad w/ 7 showings that night & only myself. Bummer that, even w/ reclining seats, XD second row sucks, but maybe I'll try to hit up XD during the second week.

 

Yeah. If they didn’t have those upfront seats at the theater I’m going to, the whole weekend would almost be sold out. Those seats are arguably even worse for XD due to the massive size of the screen.

Those seats are reclining, but it’s mostly for the legs. The upper half is doesn’t lean too far back.
