I think 8 sounds about right or 9 not 11. The theatre I go to has shows as early as 9am tomorrow so...

 

Possibly different time zones?

 

My hometown theater sells tickets at 11 AM EST because that’s when their box office open. When The Last Jedi tickets went on sale online prior to that time I still had to wait because I couldn’t buy tickets for it until the theater itself sold tickets. It could be a choice by management.

I’m away for school now and hopefully the 5 IMAX screens in Raleigh-Durham don’t sell out before my class is over (if tickets go on sale at 9 am).

Holy fucking shit. I don't think I've ever been this excited for a movie. No exaggeration. This is insane that it's finally come to this.

 

Verbatim what I just said to my friend. I honestly can't say I've ever anticipated a movie as much as this one. Something special.

Got my Cinemark XD (not 3D) tickets.

 

That’s lame as hell. I wasn’t going to see it in imax anyhow because of MoviePass, but still can’t believe no standard IMAX showing.

It's probably just below true IMAX. Most say it's better than IMAX Digital, but just a little below IMAX 70MM. The good thing is the cost is much lower. My tickets were about $14.75 with fees.

It's basically a large format screen. Literally wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor screen with 4K projector and great sound. Nice, comfy recliner seats as well.
