    Curious what you don't like.

To me it feels like a weird mish mash of the Iron Spider (mostly in that its a Stark design) and the most recent Parker Industries one. I'm not sure I really have a feeling either way on it. I wasn't a big fan of the recent ASM run and dropped it around the Clone Saga stuff. Maybe something closer to the PI suit would work here. I dunno.

It feels like Spidey wouldn't really work in a global scale battle without some type of tech suit. It would have been cooler if it was more of his own design, but maybe we'll see that down the line.

  2. I don't like Iron Man Spider-Man. Same issues I've had forever on the over reliance on technology in the MCU. (The over use in the Parker Industries arc I didn't love either, but I liked how they got from point a to b and we had Miles and others that stuck to the basics and what that brought about. The third time Spider-Man is on screen he's overpowered with a tech suit instead of what I find most appealing about the character: a simple man relying on simple things to do extraordinary things.)

  3. I disagree. The giant battle when Miles teams up with Cap is one of my favorites. He's a kid, he knows the stakes, and he goes in anyway and almost dies but for his reflexes/instincts/cunning. That's the Spider-Man I like best.

I'm curious to see what happens if Stark dies in IW or Avengers 4, and how it affects Spidey the most. We may see him go from the more tech-oriented suit/character to a more naturalistic design, and it would be a decent progression for the character, trying to figure out how to make all of this stuff on his own.

I have no real problem with Peter having a more tech-based suit. I have more of an issue with the fact that Tony gives it to him instead of Peter making it himself.

I've always loved variant Spidey costumes (like the 90s silver armor), so I love him having a high tech suit in specifically Infinity War. Love that it's basically a mix between Ben Reilly Spider-Man (one of my favorites since childhood!), Iron Spider (which is overrated but has cool qualities), and the recent Parker Industries one. If they make a figure of this one, I'm totally buying it.

So, I guess that gives me the minority opinion that the Homecoming costume is trash, but this one is cool. I'm used to having weird Spidey film opinions, though, so it's all good. :spiderman:

I will say that I agree with @Jason Tate that it's better for Peter to make his own costume, and also better to fully embrace that underdog vibe. One of his coolest underdog stories from the mid 80s was a tough battle against Firelord, a cosmic being he should've lost to, but when the Avengers arrived, Spidey was pounding his unconscious body. However, due to the precedent of the alien costume, Stark's Iron Spider, and Richards' Future Foundation suit, I'm fine with an outside suit as an exception to the rule when it makes story sense. It just sucks that this is a continuation of the crap in Homecoming, but if I pretend that didn't happen, I can dig this.

While we’re talking about Spider-Man. With the footage and the Russo’s admitting that his screen time in this film will be equivalent to civil war, I fully expect Thanos to kill Peter.

I would say anything but that (and the death of Guardians) is on the table since the only confirmed movies after this are Spider-Man 2 and Guardians 3

Yeah, I'd say there's a better chance of Darth Vader showing up in the movie, haha.

I expect a lot of characters to be killed but eventually be revived by the stones, like some of the guardians and Spidey. I only think a few characters will stay dead (Cap, Hawkeye, Black Widow and maybe Tony)

I actually agree with you and thought the same things after seeing him getting choke slammed. Figured he gets brought back somehow with the stones.

If Peter gets killed it will only be a plot device to push Tony into the battle more emotionally. He’ll probably blame himself, blah, blah.

Quote me in 5 months, but I'm honestly sitting here laughing at you guys talking about Spidey dying. Even if it's just temporary, there's no way Marvel is gonna kill guaranteed money.

I don’t see how that would be throwing away money. No matter what happens Homecoming 2 will still happen and they will still sell a ton of spider-man figures. It’s already been confirmed his screen time won’t be more than around 20 minutes. Either Thanos kills him and he is revived at the end of the film or in Avengers 4, or he is injured so badly that it allows for him to be written out of the rest of the film. Given that the Russos have spoken about wanting to have serious stakes and that there will be deaths, I think him dying isn’t out of reach at all.

I don't want Peter to get killed because anyone who Thanos kills shouldn't come back. Let the stakes be real and leave an impact on the characters forever.

A lot of this death speculation feels really misguided to me. Remember, Avengers 4 is a thing and is the real "finale" of this era of the MCU. So, no, neither Tony nor Steve is going to die in Infinity War. Though, if we reframe this conversation to Avengers 4 deaths, yeah, Tony is 100% gonna die, lol. That's the surest death by far.

And, while I'd love for Peter to bite the dust and be replaced by Miles, we already know that Tom Holland is signed on for 3 Spidey films and 3 ensemble films, and that Homecoming is the first of a trilogy of Spidey films set during 3 years of high school, and that the Homecoming sequel comes out two months after Avengers 4. So, um, yeah. lol.

I think they actually spoiled a death in the trailer, which I was pretty mad about. Within the first couple of seconds, Tony is shown mournfully holding a hand that looks to be Rhodes'/War Machine. I know he's seen fighting with Cap and others earlier, but it looks like something before/after a final battle.
