I would pay money to see Jon Bernthal’s Punisher talk junk to Thanos.

Im curious what the run time will be for this. Civil War was 2 hours and 27 mins long. I would think this needs to be at least that length.

The modern Infinity storyline by Hickman, or the original 90s Infinity Gauntlet/War/Crusade? If the Hickman one, that makes a lot more sense if you read Hickman's issues of Avengers and New Avengers that lead into that event. (If you already haven't seen me say this, I'm very fond of the entire Hickman Avengers epic culminating in 2015's Secret Wars event.)

The one that started in 2012, so the former.

I’m also reading the tie ins you mentioned - Avengers and New Avengers. I had to google a few things to catch up mainly the BP vs Namor plot but everything else I can at least follow to some extent. I haven’t read any comics with Blackbolt in it but that dude is badass.

Yeah it’s pretty good so far. Are the Avengers/New Avengers run finished now? If I end up loving this I’d probably go back to their first few issues and continue up to the latest.

I should probably read the Thanos books that have been coming out recently. Those creative teams have been amazing. I just find Thanos kinda boring.

The Avengers and New Avengers series that tie into Infinity were both written by Hickman from the start. That Avengers series lasted 44 issues, and the New Avengers series lasted 33 issues.

Avengers (2012) #1-44, New Avengers (2013) #1-33, Infinity (2013) #1-6, and Secret Wars (2015) #1-9 all tell essentially one big, epic Marvel story all written by Hickman. (Yes, that is a grand total of 92 issues, and yes, you do need a reading order to know what order to read everything in. Comics are...fun. lol.) You can probably enjoy the two big events, Infinity and Secret Wars, well enough on their own, but I think it all makes the most sense and is the most rewarding when taken in as one big story.

If you're the kind of person who wants everything explained, you'll totally fall down multiple rabbit trails along the way, lol. Superior Spider-Man, Sam Wilson Captain America, the Death of Wolverine, etc. all happen during the time of this run in their own books and aren't explained in this saga. If you're will to just accept that things happen because reasons and just focus on the main narrative at hand, though, you'll be fine focusing only on the Hickman stuff.

If you feel super ambitious, you can also go back and read his entire Fantastic Four/FF run before you tackle his full Avengers epic! It's similarly great and big and whatnot, and both New Avengers and Secret Wars have callbacks to that saga, though you certainly don't need to read it first.

To answer your question, yes, Hickman's Avengers stuff is over. Secret Wars was his final Marvel hurrah before doubling down on creator-owned work at Image. There has been some under appreciated Avengers material over the past couple years, but if you end up loving Infinity enough to read the whole Avengers epic I described above and aren't burnt out on big Avengers stories at the end, I'd suggest you wait until next year before becoming current. Jason Aaron is rumored to be taking over the main Avengers book starting in May, which would probably be a great jumping on point.

I'm in the camp of people that don't like the way Thanos looks. Hope this isn't the finished product. Other than his looks I'm so excited for this movie.

Thanos looked cooler in Guardians 1 and the post credits scenes from older movies.

If they retain the same factor of YT views to actual box office results as IT (a significantly smaller franchise) they have a FLOOR of ~$800M in box office rev, just from the first 24 hrs in YT views.
