Gonna say the one who was existing outside of time and keeping all the other Kangs in check has one up on the Ant-Man Kang. After what Loki did, they mentioned the Ant-Man one as if he wasn’t a big deal at all.

To be fair on this point, they know nothing about the other "Kangs" other than that there are a lot of them and they could either be He Who Remains or they could be Victor Timely or anything in-between.

So it's a stretch to say they act like "he wasn't a big deal" since they know absolutely nothing about him.

They very dismissively mention Ant-Man Kang. Sure, they don’t know every single Kang. But the finale clearly doesn’t view them as a big deal know that Loki defeated HWR. Maybe they’re wrong to think that. But that’s the vibe they have for him at the end.

Avengers vs X-Men (fox verse/wherever Monica went) leading into Secret Wars? Would certainly justify that 60+ character rumor.

I think that's reading way too much into it.

Well, ackhtualllllly, the ants didn't "defeat" him because afterwards he kicked Scott's ass for a bit pretty brutally.

And then he was pushed into oblivion by ant-man and the wasp. Never to be seen again

I haven’t watched Loki since it aired. So, maybe I’m not remembering it correctly. But I recall thinking the show gave a perfect out for them to just not even have to bring up Kang again. All thanks to Loki’s actions at the end. It doesn’t mean they couldn’t recast and bring him back of course. But after Loki it felt like they could just never mention him again.

Marvel tried with Kang and failed. Time to move on to better villains.

It’s really hard to recast a character that Marvel has already shown looks the same in every universe.

Tried and failed my ass. Kang is a fucking great villain and concept, and just because one film failed in some people's eyes to set him up as a threat doesn't mean you just give up and throw away all the work that's been done. You just do a better job next time.

It's not though. We already know variants don't have to look the same, and we're getting more of this in Deadpool.

Fuck, we've had recasts even without an in-universe explanation, and we're getting another in Brave New World.

Yeah I don’t remember much of the movie. I remember there was some ants. In a film called Ant Man. Seems to track

That's probably one of the reasons why marvel doesn't want the character to headline an Avengers film anymore. They can't risk using a villain that was not very well received by the audience to headline an Avengers film.

Unlike Thanos, who had very small moments leading up to his first full length feature, Kang was thrown in Antman 3 as the main antagonist and didn't catch on the way Marvel had hoped.

Unlike those characters, every variant of Kang has been shown to look the same. HWR, Victor Timely, Conqueror, the entire stadium full of tens of thousands of Kangs

I’m fairly confident we had the same convo in the Loki thread haha although I think I was more pro move on then. Now, I don’t really care one way or the other. I’m not against a recast and I’m not against just dropping the character entirely. I think whatever they announce at SDCC will show us which direction they’re going.

    Don't care.

    Don't care.

All I want is to let me have my weird arrogant obnoxious time-traveling "scheming against himself" villain and then everyone can do whatever.

Like, I've seriously no joke been looking forward to the potential of Kang in live-action since Age Of Ultron. I'll die on this fucking hill.

My assumption is that they’re deciding to move on from Kang for now and after a handful of years pass again they’ll bring the character back with a vengeance with a recast. He’s too big of a villain with too much history to just never bring him back ever again. For now though, it would seem they’re wanting the audience to comfortably distance ourselves from him to shift focus over to the mutants, the Fantastic Four, and eventually Galactus. Then when the dust settles from all of that, and the characters are looking for a respite, Kang returns.

We're just trying to help penlab brace for impact when they reveal Kang isn't the focus for Avengers 5 at comic con

General audiences will not notice if they move on from Kang. They will show up for a new Avengers movie excited to see their favorite superheroes team up again

If you ask me, a bigger mistake is not having used versions of Kang in more films to take full advantage of a villain whose whole point is he has multiple versions of himself running around.

I want PenLab to get his Kang because I’m finally getting at least an acknowledgement that there is still a MASSIVE SPACE CORPSE sticking out of the ocean lol
