It's probably Captain Carter, but part of me secretly hopes we're going to find out what happened when Cap took the Infinity Stones back to their homes. I still want that fucking story, Marvel.
yeah, but just look at Thanos’ backstory in Infinity War compared to the comics. If the Russos are giving Doom some of his own MCU-exclusive motivations, especially if he isn’t from Earth-616, it will be useful for RDJ to think of a backstory.
That's one way to interpret it, but the way I read it is that he's doing "research" and writing "backstory" and getting "costume ideas" from the research, because as Mick says, there's a lot of comics to pull information from, and it helps to make it consistent.
True, he could be compiling backstories from various different comics to make one “head canon” backstory for the Doom he is portraying.
“He loves three dimensional characters” Russos really have lost the sauce if they’re impressed by an actor wanting a well rounded character
Cosmic Cirus on Doom’s motivations Doom wants to stop the incursions from happening and stop the multiverse from entirely collapsing on itself. I think people will have a better time processing this movie if they stopped thinking of Doom as the ultimate villain meant to swap out Kang at the last minute, and more as the antagonist who thinks he is the hero, and is pissed at He Who Remains for essentially “silencing” his universe as well as every other universe/timeline that didn’t correspond to the Sacred Timeline, and wants nothing more than to “take the reins of his timeline and win his freedom”. and how heroes will react to Doom differently Some heroes will see Doom as a hero, others will see him as something a little less. The heroes of the remaining worlds of the Multiverse have to find a way to save their own universe and how they’d go about in doing that, even if it means the destruction of the other universe to save their own. Most will be rushing to get to Loki first in order to save their universe.
We’ll most likely get Deadpool and Wolverine in this. They just don’t want to reveal everything at once
I think it’s also a “let’s reveal it for the hype before it’s spoiled by set leaks” as well. There are a few more characters that I think Marvel will wait to confirm at SDCC
