Watching Avengers 1 right now. One thing they really improved on as the MCU evolved was the costume design. Good lord Cap/Thor did not look great early on.

 

Finally saw this, managed to avoid spoilers aside from one random IG comment saying "Iron Man and Black Widow die" which I didn't believe since she has a solo film in the works so I was still surprised

Very satisfying wrap up, didn't feel like 3 hours

I'm late so I don't need to echo a lot of things said (most of which I caught up on) but loved how they did Tony's death. No quips or anything, it was perfectly done.

 

I actually had the thought earlier that as much as I love the MCU, I was also really hoping GOTG would also work just as its own trilogy but you basically have to watch the last two Avengers movies too

 

Agree with this so much. Luckily both improved by a huge margin in later movies.

 

Cap in IW was peak Cap for me.

I'm hoping to see it again on Sunday. I've spent the last 7 days letting it marinade and I actually can't believe it's only been a week since it came out. This week has been twenty years long.

 

Same! It somehow feels like it's been forever since I saw it.

 

I don’t really feel like ranking every Marvel movie because I haven’t seen some of them in a while but I can definitely do a top and bottom 5. (Infinity War is trash and I’ll brook no argument)

This might be the wildest post I've seen on this website

 

I can imagine the others being there but IW not being a top 10 or at least 15 movie is outside my scope of understanding.

 

There were people that didn't like that movie at all, including a few here.

 

Just seeing Capt America 1 over 2 is wild to me as well

 

Tier 1 (the ones I really like and think are unequivocally great)
Black Panther/Guardians 1 & 2/Ragnarok/Avengers 1/Iron Man 3

Tier 2 (the ones I like)
Iron Man, Cap 1 & 2

Tier 3 (the ones with good stuff and bad stuff that don’t quite work for me)
Civil War, Homecoming, Endgame, Age of Ultron

Tier 4 (fine I guess it’s hard to muster up strong feelings about this tier)
Ant-Man, Doctor Strange

Tier 4.5 (somewhere in between tiers 4 and 5)
Iron Man 2

Tier 5 (bad)
Thor 2, Infinity War (which has good stuff but is overwhelmed by stuff I take issue with)

I haven’t seen Ant Man & the Wasp, Captain Marvel, or Incredible Hulk, and don’t remember Thor 1 well at all

 

I get that people didn't like it, but bottom tier is a low-blow. Just my opinion, of course, but I can't fathom choosing IM3/THOR 2 over it.

 

Honestly I'd probably never watch Ultron again, can't fathom that above Infinity War lol

 

Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, and the first Thor are all definitive bottom 3 movies for me

All just truly dreadful

 

1. The Winter Soldier

3. Homecoming
4. Civil War
5. Endgame

 

It's hard to argue these except I'd watch Thor before Dark World but it's just a swap of 3rd and 4th worst for me lol

 

I loved that they had Tony poke fun at how bad that costume was haha
