Re-watched Ragnarok last night and I just want to echo the love for Korg. My favorite supporting character from the entire MCU. All of his are great, but one of my favorite lines from Ragnarok is when he kicks at Loki's projection/hologram, "Piss off, ghost!"
When me and my friends left the theater for Endgame, the lines we ended up quoting most in our parking lot post-movie break down were....Korg lines from Ragnarok Loved his cameo. "Thor, he's back! Kid on the TV just called me a dickhead again.....Noobmaster69"
Watching Guardians. Kind of confused how the timeline works out since they went back to 2014 for the Power Stone. In that timeline Gamora and Nebula are with Thanos fighting a battle of sorts, but in Guardians they are with Ronan. Gamora's quick turn in Endgame does make sense though because in Guardians shes really already decided to turn against Thanos and Ronan. She said shes no daughter of Thanos. She probably was just waiting for the right time.
Don Cheadle is awesome. but this frustrates me so much. this entire thing is ridiculous. i don't even get how it started, but I feel like I'll just get angrier if I tried to find out
I just randomly remembered the old marketing images for the film with Hulk in that dark grey and purple spandex-looking suit. I wonder what made them change their minds on that
After the battle in Endgame Thanos was getting ready to send them to Ronan when all the stuff started happening with Nebula. The timeline was supposed to go: Battle-Quill finds the Stone around the same time Thanos sends Gamora and Nebula to Ronan-Ronan finds out Quill has the Stone-Gamora volunteers to go after him.
Oh shit really? I don't know how I forgot about that lmao. I was thinking he was just in his tank top or the quantum suit still
I had one of those "Brie Larson is terrible and ruining Marvel movies" videos suggested to me by Youtube yesterday and now I'm questioning what the hell I watched that got that video suggested. On the bright side, the video has twice as many dislikes as it does likes, so there's still more good people out there than there are shitty people.
It's even crazier to me after seeing Endgame because like, she's not even in Endgame long enough to ruin anything!
Any time I see thumbnails on YouTube for any of those horrible videos about Brie Larson I get SO FUCKING HAPPY that the movie made $1,112,189,450.00 at the box office SO FAR and was the #2 movie for a while this weekend after Endgame.
I haven't been in this thread since last week to avoid spoilers and haven't caught up so excuse me if I'm repeating stuff people may have already said but heres my initial and very loose thoughts on the movie: Just saw this last night and holy shit was this huge. Luckily I went in only knowing a couple spoilers that didn't really affect my enjoyment. First off, I'll just say I think they succeeded and pulled it off amazingly. My jaw dropped after the portals opened with all the characters who came back from Hulk's snap. The ending of Steve and Tony's arcs were really well executed imo, especially Steve getting his happy ending and Tony definitely earned a hero's death. I was definitely holding back happy tears for Cap. In terms of deaths, part of me felt like Natasha's scene was a bit rushed but I get they probably didn't want to dwell on it for too long. Would have been nice if the funeral at the end was for both her and Tony. Also I really love how each act has almost a completely different tone/feel. I'm honestly not sure if/when any other movie or franchise could pull off what they did here over a span of 22 movies to wrap things up so cleanly. In terms of negatives, only thing I wished for was a little bit more of Thor fighting in the final battle since he's my fav character of the OG Avengers but I'm glad he's gonna be a part of GOTG3! And thinking about the time travel aspect is pointless because it legit makes no sense no matter how you try to rationalize it. I went back and forth with my friend about it and we agreed you kinda just have to suspend your disbelief with that. It doesn't really take away from anything in the movie and they acknowledge how confusing it is. Any other negatives I have are minor nitpicks and end of the day I loved this movie and can't wait to see it again.
I was thinking about how since Rocket and Bucky are my two favorite MCU characters and they got their team up in Infinity War how I would die for a miniseries/TV show of the two of them, but especially Rocket can work with pretty much literally anybody in the MCU with how he is. Give me more Rocket combos. Also I'm so happy Thor is set up to get more time with the Guardians, that last shot of him establishing his dominance with Star Lord and the look he gives was priceless
I definitely feel like they had no idea what to do with Captain Marvel here but I would never say that's her fault
Did they explain why it looked like Carol hadn't aged since Capt Marvel but like 30 years had passed? Maybe I missed something.
As much as I love Thor with the guardians, the insecure quill vs Thor dynamic is already wearing thin for me. Hope they don’t rely too heavily on that.
I thought it worked great here, if they KEEP pressing it over and over in GOTG3 then yea alright but man how can you deny Thor's face at the end
