I want to see this but I have no desire to try and get into a packed theater opening weekend. Will probably try for next week instead
Might try and see Captain Marvel tonight, still haven't seen it. If I end up sleeping instead, I'm hoping missing it won't be a huge detriment for viewing this.
So, the one thing I keep seeing from these early non-spoilery reviews is the amount of people who cried during the movie.. I'm gonna have to mentally prepare myself to cry to public.
NON-SPOILER THOUGHTS TURN AWAY IF YOU DONT WANT NON-SPOILER THOUGHTS It is very good. It’s pretty much highlights all things we love about the series (Really focuses on the group as a team and how much they care for each other, which I felt “Infinity War” was really lacking because it had to shift the characters around so much. The performances are great here). It also has a lot of the beats that remind us that it’s still a Disney Marvel movie (namely, the climax) and is almost comically self indulgent (the middle section is pretty much a tribute to itself). It didn’t take much away for me because at this point, you’re either in or out on the formula. I was surprised by how much slower this was at some points. It takes its time much better than most MCU movies. I got strong “Leftover” vibes for the first hour. Some will likely say it’s too slow because they want to go directly to the fireworks factory. I won’t say much beyond that, other to say I was impressed.
H y p e . I'm really expecting this to bring all the joy I wish Infinity War brought. That film has become so tedious upon rewatch & isn't something I particularly wanna sit through start to finish again (as much as I love the Thor thread & wouldn't mind a fan edit short film w/ just his story).
