Luckily my theater has 11pm for the last showtime

 

A local IMAX cinema has had a 2:45 am showing since tickets went on sale but I’m pretty sure it’s sold out.

I wouldn’t go to that if someone gave me free popcorn and a ticket

I only work mornings so it doesn’t matter to me but that is just insane. I can’t believe people are buying tickets for that

 

The theatre I go to has a showing at 120 am for the last show then 7 am starting Friday morning so they will only be closed for like 2 hours

 

real talk props to movie workers dealing with events like this

 

Yeah, I’m a morning person and I’d love to see movies in a theater before work, but that definitely sucks for employees not used to that schedule.

 

I’m just glad we’re not opening super early. Working 6am-5pm during Force Awakens was hell. First shows for us are 930, that’s fine.

From Thursday to Friday, the theatre I'm going to has a 3:20 AM showing and a 7:10 AM showing Friday. On Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday, they have 2:40 AM to 7:10 AM again. Even the weekdays seem long with each day having the last showing at 11:15 and still having the 7:10 AM showing every day. They're pretty much not closing the whole weekend and, otherwise, only having a 2-3 hour break for the first week... and maybe longer.

What percentage of people do you think fall asleep during those late of showings?

Haha, I dunno! I feel like this is a very dedicated fanbase and those who are willing to buy tickets for after 2am will see it through to the end. 30 tickets sold so far

 

We've already sold more tickets for the 1:35am show than I expected would show up, so who knows. I feel like those shows will be a shit show though. People coming from bars, etc

Maybe I'm just too old, but it seems weird.
