With this being the end of multiple character arcs it has to be long. There isn’t really a way around it. If there was Disney would try to go that way for financial reasons.
They did figure out a way around it: release half a movie last year that was 2.5 hours and now release the other half that’s over 3 hours. It’s pretty absurd that all these blockbusters are so long nowadays. Especially when it seems they typically don’t have much to say.
I'm not sure I agree with having "not much to say" care to elaborate? in regards to blockbusters being a long amount of time, I feel like the ones that are approx. 3 hours are that way because they need to be to tell their story well
I haven’t seen all of the MCU movies, but the majority of the ones I’ve seen don’t have characters or a story that feels like they’re great enough to have to have such bloated runtimes. And to be specific, it’s not just MCU movies I’m referring to in general, even blockbusters I like could be shortened a lot, imo
And “not much to say” to me means just because their plot is that long doesn’t mean the movie should be. Half the shitty jokes and exposition scenes could easily be cut.
If the rumors are true about the run time and I see this opening night, which would be a work night, I most likely won’t get out of the theater until 10:30/11:00... going to be rough. I love going to the movies but it does suck when so many of them are so long. I’m also going to want to see this a second time likely during the weekend too and it will take up half of my day :/ oh well I guess
I remember when they arrived on Titan in Infinity War I had to take a big breath. Movie was pretty overwhelming, but it felt proper given the years build up to it.
You know what one of my favorite days of the year is? April 2nd. I really love it as a random day of the year. Such a fantastic day. Usually extra great at 8am est.
