Yeah I’m happy with this. Not quite as good as city of evil, the stage, and waking the fallen (their top 3) but better than hail to the king and nightmare. right about even with self titled which is funny because several moments feel like that record to me
Yeah, they highlight 12 on their webstore but I know there was an exclusive cover for whatever their NFT fan club is called, but wasn't aware that there was 16 different variants total. There's a ton of art done for this album, so surprised there wasn't a few combinations of cover options exclusive to them and other retailers.
Yeah, this album is insane, but I love it. Made me want to revisit it, and I never thought I'd say that with an A7X record in recent times. Haven't really followed them since Nightmare
Listened to this just now, and while it definitely wasn't what I was expecting, it might be one of my favorite things they've done. I can also see the marketing department at Warner having fits over this: "There's no singles! Where's the single?" I absolutely see why "Nobody" was chosen, as it's the most straightforward song-like cut on the album. Everything else goes all over the fucking place in a really great way, but it's definitely something that sounds stronger as an album than as a collection of songs.
My first thoughts nearing the end is "The Rev would've loved the shit out of this". Assuming but I feel like he wanted to move the band towards weirder sounds and this is them finally delivering on that. The entire thing is wild! I do think it drags a little in the first half but it picks up in the second and the GOD trilogy + the title track are phenomenal.

Yes, that is correct but this is 2023 and singles and playlists are king. Full album play throughs are a thing of the past. Prog metal is a good exception though.
It’s a shame what happened to the art of the album, I don’t know, modern times in the music industry stink.
