Listening to the isolated vocals just proves that he's using multiple techniques to convey the message behind the song, and a lot of what people are hearing is brought about by the mix and the way the guitars and vocals are fighting for all the midrange. His voice doesn't sound strained or tired on its own but it seems like they definitely tried to make it sound a little warped altogether
I mean, that's fine? It's subjective. I wasn't replying to your comment, just stating again that after they've released the isolated vocals they sound similar in 'wear' to the isos from the stage and HTTK. So his voice is older obviously, but it's not 'shot' like a lot of people are claiming
What is going on in this track? It sounds like 5 different tracks, none of them being entirely interesting.
The video is cool. It’s a 360 camera view and was created using Unreal Engine. The song on the other hand…
I don't know, that sounded fine? It sounds like this album might be more conceptual than previous ones, so I'm interested to hear everything in its proper place. For example, that's the first track and it sounds kind of intro-ish, which I presume is why they also started their show with that song. Then again, there are people who like to tear down everything they've done since Waking The Fallen, so I presume there are people who will just dismiss it out of hand.
(waiting for the album to drop in the hopes that there will be people that will be willing to discuss it in good faith instead of a stone throwing)
I am firmly in the camp of Waking The Fallen being the album from them that's great front to back, but I always enjoy one or two songs from every subsequent album.
I dunno, I just feel like if someone likes the music and wants a space to discuss that, seeing a wall of shit-talking is... somewhat oppressive. I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable. But then, and I've said this many a time, I don't generally feel a need to let people know when I don't like a piece of media unless I'm directly asked. It just feels unnecessary to me, and I don't really understand what purpose it serves.
I can rock WTF and The Stage front to back any time (and COE is close, save for just a track or two) but I've always liked a decent margin of tracks from each album. After the LIBAD experience, I can safely say that I love this album and it's definitely strange in a cool and fun way. I'm just glad they did what they wanted through and through. If they tried to remake WTF or COE people would shit on them, and if they just made more radio-rock type tracks from Self Titled or Nightmare it would be about the same reaction. This is very different (other than some thrashy moments early on in the album) and I dig it. Even when it wasn't cool, these guys have pretty much always just leaned in to whatever they wanted to do which is admirable
