Going back to finish The 100 might be a choice you end up...regretting lol. It's, well, I mean your mileage may vary so you never know, but it's...uh...

    It's.

Based on a single image, this looks gorgeous and I’m 1000% in.

Reeeeally looking forward to a new show. And the new movie. It's been way too long since we've since this world in animated form.

  4. There are some things I really don't like about the image (the cat creature looks really off, colors feel weird) but I'm still looking forward to this. Not gonna prejudge the show based on a single image. I do like the ideas they are playing with, like the twins where one is an avatar and how it seems like the world has gone very badly.

If Bryan and Michael are involved and are the main creatives, I’m not going to question it.

I just finished the series for the first time. I had only made it up to the second season previously.

Such a high quality show from start to finish. Great writing, amazing finale, and damn, they really just don't make animation like this anymore. That finale must have cost a fortune to animate, especially with the creativity of some of the fighting and bending.

It's a shame that the live action Netflix series is so bad. Looks beautiful, they nailed that, but the acting and strange writing choices are trash

It’s actually not too bad. Comparing it to the animated show, it’s a bad adaptation. But if I pretend it stands on its own then it’s enjoyable

I just hate all of the exposition, removing character flaws, pretty much ruining Suki's character, removing any sort of mystery by just explaining things immediately, and how clunky the dialogue is. And the kid who plays Aang is just one of the worst child actors I've ever seen. But idk, yeah, maybe it's too difficult for me to separate from the original haha

Some of the choices are a little strange. Like having Aang get a vision of the Northern Water Tribe being attacked prompting them to go there…. They have all this urgency to get up there to “help”, but then it turns out them going to the North Pole ends up being the reason WHY the tribe even gets attacked in the first place lol.

In the cartoon, they are up there JUST to find a water bending trainer and the Fire Nation follows them. Simple yet effective. So adding in a premonition and a “self-fulfilling prophecy” trope was weird to me. Seemed like an unnecessary addition that made it worse.

That said, I had a good time with the show as a whole.

Nothing will ever be able to compare to the original show, but I’m looking forward to S2/S3 of the live action show. If they exclude the episode of Appa missing in S2 I’ll probably start a protest, though.

I liked the live action show. Wasn't it the kid who played Aang's first acting role? I thought he improved as the season went on.

I just can't tell if he's the worst actor I've ever seen or if he was just given cringeingly terrible lines

Although I really hate when people excuse bad actors with "the writers really didn't give them much to work with" lol

Part of the beauty of the animated show is the goofy moments and childlike wonder that the kids have despite the awful war surrounding them.

i think that’s what was missing the most from the live action show and hard to do with a condensed runtime
