Loved this until the last hour became a retread of the second. We need a proper revolution already. And was disappointed that Varang’s tribe just became inconsequential henchmen by the end Also thought it was dumb how much everyone was acting as if Spider being about to breathe somehow changes anything. Obviously it allows humans a way to eventually learn how to breathe themselves, but the humans were already looking to take over the planet anyway. Being able to breathe makes it easier, but it’s not like that’s been stopping them before
This was visually transcendent in IMAX 3D. Favorite sequence was the Sully jailbreak. As others said, wish we had more of a meaty dynamic between the family and the Fire clan, but the scenes at the volcano were cool. Shout out to the drug trip lol. If they go with 4 (which I can’t imagine not at this point), I’d actually be interested to see someone else with a different voice helm it. the actor for spider is terrible. And Cameron gets Sci-fi freaky with this lol
He was also very inexperienced when making these movies and I can’t imagine they’re really easy to perform in for anyone
The whole character isn’t exactly what I’d call “great,” so whenever his acting is stilted or whatever, I tend to feel more forgiving towards him as an actor
Had a solid time with this. Echoing the comments about the last act feeling like a copy paste of Way of Water, was going "wait a minute, I've already seen this before" many times during that whole portion. Liked the parts with Lang and Spider together, Varang and the Sully kids the most. Haven't rewatched the other entries so I don't remember if it was expected but the amount of corny B movie like one liners surprised me. Spider blurting most of them (the film's final line being the worst) doesn't help his case lol. Wonder how the dialogue is in English, I'll have to watch it in that version further down the line
Spider reminds me a lot of Edward Furlong in T2. Not a very good performance but it doesn’t hurt the movie
The performance. The way he reads lines. The way he delivers dialogue. Especially in the scene where Jake is contemplating killing him his performance does not sell the drama of what’s happening
Sam Worthington does most of the heavy lifting in that scene and it still moved me regardless of Jack Champion's lack of experience
Really wanna see Marty instead of this but I feel like this won’t be good if my first viewing isn’t in the theater in 3D so I will be seeing this instead
